Life is so good!! I really can't believe it's been another week

We're doin good and working hard and trying to live and feel and treasure every second

Some of our people!
- Alex: the coolest friend. He helped some missionaries with lost baggage at the airport (including my Syster williams!) when they first came to Sweden a year and a half ago, then saw an ad on facebook months later and referred himself! Has the deepest questions and really really wants to understand. He is so real and awesome. In church someone's tummy was repeatedly rumblin and me and him and Syster Hope were literally losing it trying not to laugh.  He had to step out. It was so funny. He is making a lot of progress, Please pray for him !

- William: this man is amazing. Young swedish guy who has been taught for awhile and is the deepest thinker and has really gone through a lot. Going to have to make some big decisions soon and we are praying.

- Biniam: so kind and sincere, our other cool young friend! From Ethiopia and Christian and loves the truths of the gospel. I love getting to answer questions that really are just answered with the gospel-- these are the kind that he has and it's amazing to see!

- Lucy: I love this lady with my whole heart. We found her a few weeks ago and she immediately expressed so much interest! Quickly brought her sister into the picture as well as they are both seeking. Mother to young kids and tries so hard to fit us in with her crazy mom life. Please pray for her!

Other wonderfuls :
- such a tender mercy of getting to go on exchanges with Syster Payne!!! My mtc comp that I've never served around but here we are at the very end. Who is comps with Syster Keyser another one of my companions, it was beyond fun to be with all of them.

- missed our train back and took one much later and that ended up being hilarious

- a member took us to a moose park!

- had interviews with President. I love him and Syster Lake so much.

- we had an iffy stund on the streets, then ran into a member family from utah!! The wife who is swedish just came up and gave us hugs when she saw our tags! This was such a well timed miracle!

- RIGHT AFTER THAT met a young swedish girl whose initial gasp and exclamation of "mormoner??!" had us worried, but turns out she is Christian and visited our church LAST WEEK in london and was surprised and excited to hear that it's here too!! We gave her a Mormons Bok and are meeting again. this was actually one of those few happenstances where I really do feel like we were guided to meet her. Pray for Maija!!

- my sweet sweet friend Nuseiba, a friend from a year ago when I lived in Stockholm came up to Uppsala to visit!!!!

- I love Syster Hope. We bought matching tshirts

THINGS ARE SO GOOD. I just have a lot to be grateful for. We feel all of your prayers for our friends!

Farhad, Kungsbacka, Elder Child??

After hearing about a conversation between my dear Grandma Jan and now elder Child that consisted of her saying "Derek, you need to be better than your sister at writing emails," I've vowed to be ännu bättre. My grandparents love deeper than anyone, I'm convinced. It was quite possibly the most eventful week of my entire mission. Zone conference, Farhad's baptism and the wondrous few days and lessons leading up to it, the long awaited temple trip and tender mercy of my little brother receiving his endowment on the same day, and transfer news. Busy busy happy days in between all of it. I love Lund a lot. Farhad's baptism was wonderful. In our lesson the day before, he asked us if he would share a testimony at the baptism. We told him that he of course could, but didn't need to-- he then proceeded to read out a carefully written testimony, all about Joseph Smith and the Book of Mormon and how he was grateful for every person who had helped him progress towar...

Oh my things are good good. ANNIE IS HOME. My best friend in the world. She did it! I just smiled and cried watchin the videos of her huggin Jana. Dreamed of our missions since we were little and now her adventure is done. Where to start. It's been two weeks. - Pontus came to zone conference and loved it! Took notes the whole time. There was a lot of talk about purpose-- he said afterward that he feels like his purpose is "kind of like you guys- a missionary, basically." It was special. He is getting baptized THIS SUNDAY! After so long working for it. Please please please please pray for him this week- he is more converted than anyone I know, but satan is working hard because of it. - Mikael in Lund got baptized!!!! Our kind-eyed deaf friend. I heard that the second counselor who baptized him learned the whole baptismal prayer in swedish sign language. Mikael's story is evidence to me that the Spirit works! Hallå! It has been a wonderful wonderful week. Many beautiful moments. A quick update and thought! I am still waiting on a visa, so will be serving in the Tennessee Nashville mission starting next week! Truly could not be more excited, and I mean that. The tender mercies of the Lord have been abundant in getting me here, and with an abundance of peace. God is very good. My sweet companions made me stand up and read my call and made a video- the whole shebang. Oh I love them. TENDER MERCIES. They are everywhere. My challenge to you, which I was prompted to do and has blessed my days- is to write down the ones you see every day. Simply write down the beautiful moments! Read this week about how they are not coincidences, and I believe it. "I testify that the tender mercies of the Lord are real and that they do not occur randomly or merely by coincidence." Elder Bednar, the Tender Mercies of the Lord April 2005, this message has blessed my life! I love you all and love this work....
